Statement of Purpose

OBJECTIVES:

1. Provide Westchester County with a world-class concert series.

2. Introduce today's youth to classical music in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

The Sacred Heart Concert Series is a non-profit organization dedicated to the cultural enrichment of the Mt. Vernon / Westchester area. From its inaugural concert in May of 2003, there have been eight concerts to date, featuring such artists as world-renowned composer Octavio Vazquez, Curtis Institute's Ludmila Konstatinova (cello) and Moscow Conservatory's Maria Yefimova (piano), among others.

The 2004-05 season will feature such spectacular artists as pianist Francine Kay (Juilliard), trumpet player Josef Burstaller (Canadian Brass) and child prodegy violinist Emma Carleton, to name just a few.

The concert series is dedicated to education and to this end, all students are admitted FREE OF CHARGE.
